Naija music has been missing something from it’s collection of artists. Either the artists are tall or handsome. Both never seem to happen simultaneously. However TY Magic might be breaking that trend. A proper tall, dark and handsome rapper breaking into the industry with They Told Me (No Long Thing). Call me old-fashioned but I appreciate a tall hottie performing for me.
Lyrics
The chorus is well a chorus, it nabs you and makes you listen to the verses, the lyrics are a tad cheesy. But the delivery makes up for it. TY has a voice that is very different from what's in the market and is easily mistaken for a foreigner’s.
Beat
It was written/composed/produced (whatever you kids are calling it these days) by TY. The beat is quite commendable, it borrows into your head and stays there. it's not the most fantasmic beat, but it was good enough to get my attention. And I think that's whats important.

A song about victory, overcoming adversity, and proving all the haters wrong. The pursuit of a dream, despite the odds, challenges and obstacles placed before him, he’s coming out victorious.
In Conclusion
I liked this song the moment I heard it, which is rare for me. I generally have to hear a song repeatedly and understand what the artist is trying to say. But with TY Magic, he has well… a magic quality to him. If you didn’t know you would mistake him for a foreign artist.
There is no mistaking it, TY is a going to be a force to reckon with.
